Things to do in Belfast this weekend, October 1-3

It might not feel like it, but somehow we've made it nine months through 2021 and have landed ourselves in the middle of autumn.

While you're digging out the hats scarves and making batches of soup to see you through the cold turn, there's still plenty happening in Belfast and beyond to keep yourself and the family and kids entertained this weekend.

Take a look at everything that's going on over the next three days:

Oktoberfest Belfast, October 1-3

Raise your steins in the air and get set for the return of Oktoberfest to Belfast! Expect food, music and - of course - beer at this year's Oktoberfest, which will be held in Custom House Square.

The event will take place on three weekends throughout October, with the first weekend running from October 1-3. See oktoberfestbelfast.com for more details.

Made In Liverpool - Beatles Tribute Act, October 1

One of the best Beatles tribute acts on the go, Made In Liverpool are set to make their Belfast return with a performance at Cargo by Vertigo on Friday, October 1. With live music returning to Belfast, this is a chance to see a fantastic cover band pay tribute to the most revered rock music act of all time.

Cinemagic International Film & TV Festival, October 1-31

Cinemagic is back, with a fantastic events programme for film lovers aged 4-25. The festival brings together talent labs and creativity masterclasses with film industry professionals. The festival will run throughout the month of October.

Autumn Family Activities at Hillsborough Castle, October 1-30

Visit the Walled Garden at Hillsborough Castle during October to see a gathering of scarecrows made by local schools and community groups in partnership with local artists. The perfect family activity for those looking to embrace autumn and embrace the Halloween festivities.

Belfast Marathon, October 3

The Belfast Marathon is set to return this Sunday, for its first event in over two years. Following delays due to the pandemic, the 39 th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 3 2021. Expect to see runners lacing up their shoes as they take on the 26.2 mile race across the entire city. For those who aren't taking part, there'll be a massive buzz throughout the day.
