Things to do at home during lockdown: The best online and virtual events taking place today - June 9

You know the drill by now: things are starting to ease across the country ever so slightly, but we’re still socially distancing and spending most of our time indoors.

Still, the internet has done it's thing, with theatre, comedy and art exhibitions all headed online.

Besides, there's light on the horizon: more restaurants are opening for delivery, there are plenty of online cocktail and wine masterclasses to get stuck into and cinemas are hopeful of opening soon as well.

These are our top picks of the things to get up to online today – and make sure to check out our new hobbies to try out too.

Lockdown hasn't slowed Lorely Rodriguez, who released her latest album, I'm Your Empress Of, back in April. This week, she'll be streaming her technicolour blend of pop and R'n'B through the evening from 8pm. If you're staying up late, metal giants Metallica are also streaming on Youtube, 1am our time.

(Seamus Ryan)

Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Matt Lucas and Carrie Hope Fletcher came together for the all-star Les Misérables concert on the Gielgud stage last year, marking the highlight of the summer’s musical calendar. The performance is now available to download in support of the NHS and theatre industry. Check out our full guide to online theatre and comedy to check out during lockdown here.

Take on the Old Dairy pub quiz

This Crouch Hill pub is obviously still closed, but is carrying on regardless with its pub quiz, running a virtual version every Tuesday at 7.40pm. It’s even got its own Twitter handle (@OldDairyN4Quiz), where you can watch the quiz via a live broadcast, but you’re asked to register your team beforehand via email or direct message. Each week, the pub chooses a different charity which it asks its participants to donate to. This week, organisers are raising money for Black Lives Matter.
