Thieves who nicked huge statues of baby angels from posh Scots estate being hunted by cops

Cops are hunting thieves who made off with massive statues of baby angels from a posh Scots estate.

The four stone pieces, which weigh around six stone each, were lifted from an estate near Kinross, Perthshire and are worth thousands of pounds each.

They depict naked cherubs playing instruments and dancing.

Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for the Cherubs (Police Scotland)

Police are now appealing for information after the bizarre heist which is thought to have taken place between June 9 and 19- with anyone who has been offered a statue urged to come forward.

A statement released today by Tayside division reads: "These wee cherubs were stolen from an estate near Kinross sometime between 9th – 19th June. Each weighs about 35-40kg and they are worth well into four figures each.

"Extensive enquiries in the immediate area and beyond have already been made, but we would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered them for sale, or have any other information about their potential whereabouts.

"If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

"Information can also be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 2594 of 19th June."
