Thieves raid Hamilton petrol station making off with hundreds of pounds in cash

A Scots petrol station has been raided with thieves making off with hundreds of pounds in cash.

Cops were seen at the BP garage on Burnbank Road in Hamilton this morning with motorists reporting the BP garage had been taped off.

Police arrived at the scene at around 5.20am after reports of a robbery.

Nobody was injured but the thieves made off with 'various items' and hundreds of pounds in cash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a robbery within a petrol station on Burnbank Road, Hamilton, around 5.20am on Friday, September 4.

"Nobody was seriously injured during the incident and a quantity of items were stolen including a three figure sum of cash.

"Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information about the incident should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0470 of 4 September."
