'They can't wait for Derby' - the verdict on Nottingham Forest's win at Rotherham

Nottingham Forest continued their climb away from the Championship relegation zone as they secured a 1-0 win at Rotherham last night.

Ryan Yates' goal in the second half sealed all three points for the Reds in what was a hard-fought victory in difficult conditions.

The midfielder, who secured the man of the match award, struck from close range as the Millers failed to clear their lines on his first start back in a Reds shirt after recovering from a calf injury.

Forest fully deserved their three points at the New York Stadium where they were much the better side in possession with Anthony Knockaert going close to scoring on two occasions.

But the Reds did have a let-off in injury time when Michael Smith came inches away from grabbing an equaliser when his looping header hit the the crossbar.

Forest held on to claim the victory and they are now 10 points clear of the Championship's bottom three as they now look ahead to a much-anticipated clash against their arch rivals Derby County.

Leigh Curtis was the New York Stadium last night and here's what he had to say on the Reds' success.
