These Leeds postcodes won People's Postcode Lottery prizes in July

You only have to mention the People's Postcode Lottery in Leeds to start ripples of excitement.

Big wins in Meanwood , Osmondthorpe and Aberford this year saw rumours flying as the film crews were spied in the suburbs - with one group of lucky Leeds neighbours bagging almost £400,000.

And they weren't the only Leeds winners last month.

Six Leeds postcodes won cash prizes of £1,000 in July as part of the lottery's daily prize draw - were any of them near you?

The draw, which takes place every day of the week, sees ticket holders in 20 selected postcodes win £1,000. People with two tickets win £2,000 and those with three win £3,000.

To play a ticket costs £10 a month - people can subscribe to up to three tickets.

The following postcodes won £1,000 in the daily prize draw in July:

  • LS17 6HR
  • LS19 7HR
  • LS22 5BA
  • LS10 3ES
  • LS14 1PA
  • LS25 4AQ

July saw some big winners, too.

A street in Meanwood was drawn out of the hat in its twice-weekly £30,000 draws and so was a road in Aberford.

Three plucky neighbours who live in LS25 3AP - at the northern end of Aberford - were given a massive shock when Jeff Brazier turned up on their doorstep on Tuesday, July 23 with giant cheques worth £30,000.

A day later three more people in Leeds were given the life-changing news, when the People's Postcode Lottery team rocked up on Meanwood Valley Close in Meanwood.

How it Works - People's Postcode Lottery

A least 32 per cent of the money raised through Postcode Lottery ticket sales goes to charities.

It has helped to raise more than £420 million for charities so far.

The People’s Postcode Lottery also provides financial support to local community groups, including Moor Allerton Elderly Care and Your Back Yard CIC.
