These Cars Actually Got Cheaper for 2026

Everywhere you look, prices are going up. Food, electronics, and subscription services are costlier than ever, and cars can't escape these broader economic trends.

Some companies have already raised prices for 2026, as expected. But other automakers are actually making a handful of their vehicles cheaper for the upcoming model year.

With more consumers clamoring for affordable vehicles, companies like Chevrolet and Kia are attempting to meet demand by introducing more affordable trims. Others, like Ineos, are responding to changes in government policy, such as tariffs, to drum up demand.

Sure, there are still far more cars getting price increases in 2026 than price reductions, but here are 11 cars that actually got cheaper.

2026 Cadillac Optiq

2025 Price: $54,390
2026 Price: $52,395

Cadillac reduced the price of the Optiq for 2026 with the introduction of a new entry-level model. The electric crossover now has a rear-wheel-drive version, starting at $52,395, which is approximately $2,000 less than the 2025 model.

Cadillac offers the EV in both configurations with a range of available trims. The all-wheel-drive V-Series sits at the top, priced at $68,795. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. While the RWD version offers a range of up to 300 miles, the V-Series can travel up to 275 miles.

2026 Price: $36,995

The Jeep Cherokee is all-new for 2026, with a fresh exterior design, a revamped cabin, and a standard hybrid powertrain. Despite Jeep’s new mid-size crossover growing in every direction, the price didn’t increase. It actually went down.

The 2026 Jeep Cherokee starts at just $36,995, a healthy $2,295 cheaper than the previous model, which ended production in 2023. That's impressive considering how much more you’ll get in the new one. Jeep ensured that the Cherokee has all the features customers want without being nickel-and-dimed.
