These 2 plays helped land Packers RB Aaron Jones on PFF’s All-Clutch team

Two big plays that pushed the Green Bay Packers to important victories helped land running back Aaron Jones on Pro Football Focus’ All-Clutch Team for the 2019 season.

Both plays were touchdowns scored late during primetime showdowns.

To create the All-Clutch Team, PFF looked at which players performed the best during the fourth quarter and overtime in 2019. Jones was terrific late in games, creating over 400 total yards of offense and excelling as both a runner and receiver.

Two individual plays stood out from the rest for Jones. The first, a 67-yard touchdown catch in Kansas City, gave the Packers the lead with just over eight minutes left against the Chiefs in late October. The second was a 56-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter of the Packers’ NFC North clinching win over the Minnesota Vikings in late December.

Jones proved he could come up clutch running the ball and catching it. Both times, he weaved through traffic, found an alley and then turned on the jets, outracing the defense into the end zone for huge, game-changing touchdowns.

The two scores were Jones’ only two touchdowns during the fourth quarter or overtime. He still averaged 4.6 yards per rush and 12.4 yards per catch during the final 15 minutes of play in 2019. Overall, he turned 77 fourth-quarter touches into 461 yards and the two scores.

Don’t forget, Jones also caught the game-sealing first-down reception on third down in Kansas City. Jones also helped set up the Packers’ game-winning field goal in Week 17 with a catch-and-run that got the offense into field goal range on the final drive.

Left guard Elgton Jenkins and center Corey Linsley were also included on the All-Clutch team.
