Theresa May 'supporting Lorraine Kelly' in TV feud with Esther McVey

A source close the the Prime Minister has revealed Theresa May is supporting Lorraine Kelly in her TV feud with Esther McVey.

The ally branded McVey a " complete cow" and called her a "nightmare" and said the outgoing Prime Minister is definitely on the side of the Scottish TV star, reports the Daily Record.

A row erupted on Monday's Good Morning Britain when Lorraine side stepped talking about her past relationship with the former Department of Work and Pensions Secretary while they woked together on GMTV.

Presenter  Piers Morgan  asked Lorraine if she remembered McVey, who was on the show that day.

Her reply was: “Yeah, yes I do. Right, coming up at 8.30...”

McVey later claimed the pair did not get on because she had been promoted above Kelly to star with Eamonn Holmes in the 90s.

But the Scots TV legend said that was “nonsense” and that she was opposed to McVey’s negative attitudes on LGBT rights.

Yesterday, a source close to May told our sister paper the Daily Record : “Esther is a nightmare. Theresa is backing Lorraine.”

The insider claimed the PM was “cross” when McVey helped force a Cabinet vote on her Brexit deal.

McVey, Andrea Leadsom and Mark Harper were eliminated from the contest on Thursday.

In an apparent swipe at Johnson, the insider said May was “about to be replaced with an egotistical s****”.
