‘There’s no way he worked hard for that’: Old couple see young man working on his Chevrolet and assume he’s trying to steal the car

A man on TikTok vented his frustration after being on the receiving end of some suspicious looks while working on his expensive Chevrolet Corvette at the side of the road.

Stewart Morgan recorded an elderly couple whom he labeled as “creepy,” as they drove past him and warily watched him as if he was up to no good. Of course, he wasn’t up to no good, he was simply performing some routine maintenance on a car that he had worked hard to save up for.

Stewart can be seen taking off the steering wheel of his car as the elderly couple pass by slowly. He continues to work without paying them much attention but they turn around and pass by him yet again, almost stopping as they pass by. As they do, we get a clear look in the window at the pair who seem to be rather suspicious of whatever Stewart is up to. He calls out to them but they don’t respond, they simply drive off without a word.

Stewart voices his theory that the elderly couple thought he was stealing the car which is why they were giving him the weird stare, although he asks in the caption, “Was I being paranoid or do you think they were being creepy?”

It is a fancy looking Chevrolet

To be fair to the couple, it is a very nice and expensive looking Corvette and clearly it’s Stewart’s pride and joy as evidenced by his other videos on TikTok. However Stewart chastises them for assuming that the car isn’t his just because he’s young, “They see a young kid with a nice car and they’re just like ‘yeah bro, he’s up to no good, there’s no way he worked hard for that’.” Stewart is 20 years old so he’s certainly done well for himself to be able to buy his dream car at such a young age.

But some people on TikTok agreed with the elderly couple, stating how it does kind of look like Stewart is stealing the car. “If I saw that dash ripped apart I’d think the same thing,” another added, “can you blame them?” But others agreed that it was “def weird the fact that they keep driving back and forth.”

One viewer admitted it was weird but that Stewart “should be happy. [as] They clearly care and want to make sure that nothing happens.” Whatever the case, they didn’t bother Stewart and we can’t even know for sure what they were thinking, perhaps they were just admiring his nice car.
