Two models dominate the performance side-by-side market: the Polaris RZR Pro, and the Can-Am Maverick R. The go-fast, take-names models have been at war with one another pretty much since they launched, and haven't had a true competitor outside of one another ever. That all changed with Kawasaki's Teryx H2, a 250-horsepower supercharged hellion that broke our brains when we first drove it last year.
But Kawasaki did something interesting with the launch of Teryx H2, in that Team Green launched the four- and five-seat model first. A shot across the more family-centered offerings from Can-Am and Polaris, but one that struck many as odd, given the others tend to showcase the two-seat versions front and center over the additional seating models.
After all, the target demographic for these speedy machines tends to have fewer children, and more expendable income. Kawasaki flipped that on its head, which left many wondering if or when we'd be getting a two-seat Teryx H2 in the future. Well, fine friends, that day may be coming sooner than we expected, as an interesting tidbit just hit the web, and maybe mark your calendars for June.

Based on a report by our friends over at UTV Driver, after the outlet went looking for whatever information it could glean on the current recall and stop/sale Kawasaki put in place on the Teryx H2, a Facebook commenter stated that his dealership told him that a two-seat model was arriving soon. Now, anyone can just claim that. I can claim right now that Kawasaki is going to build you a hydrogen-powered horse! Wait, that's true. Either way, it's just hearsay, right?
Well...
According to the site's reporting, as well as past experience with Kawasaki debuts, there's also likely a two-seat version of the Teryx H2 coming soon. Though not confirmed by Kawasaki, there's an inkling and a vagueness in Kawasaki's responses to questions concerning the possible added model that we can't discount. Now, that isn't a confirmation. But it's also not a no. And if it were a hard no, Kawasaki would've just said that. So there's likely some weight to that two-seat Kawasaki Teryx H2 rumor.
And, honestly, I was one of the people surprised by the Teryx H2 launch, too, in that it didn't feature a two-seater option. Maybe Kawasaki needed more time to tune the chassis, though, as a shortened wheelbase with that much power has to be a nightmare to get right. Whatever the case may be, though, something is brewing at Kawasaki, and it seems we only have to wait a few more weeks to find out what it is.
Keep checking back, as we'll have more as soon as we know anything.
