Thepchaiya Un-Nooh has drawn flamboyant English cueist Judd Trump as first-round opponent for the 2019 Snooker World Championship.
The battle promises to be full of fireworks as both Thepchaiya and Trump, ranked No.7 in the world, are known for their extra-ordinary potting skills.
Thepchaiya lived up to his reputation as the fastest player on tour by becoming the first man to come through qualification for the 2019 finals on Wednesday.
The Thai star beat English youngster Joe O'Connor 10-6 to reach the Crucible for the second consecutive year after making his debut last year.
It has been a fantastic year for Thepchaiya, who won the first ranking title of his career at the Snooker Shootout in February.
The world No.43 had been hoping to go one better than his best World Championship finish, when he lost in the first round to John Higgins in 2018. However, Trump is far from experienced than Thepchaiya at this level.
The Thai star is officially the fastest player on the World Snooker tour this season, with an average shot time of 16.97, which is over two seconds quicker than legendary speedster Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Thepchaiya, who turned 33 yesterday, said after his victory over O'Connor: "The best gift for me is qualifying for the Crucible. I'm so happy today.
"I am okay about facing anyone in the first round, just please don't give me Ronnie O'Sullivan. He's the best player, he's my idol, I don't need to play him except in the final.
"I dream that one day I play with him in the Crucible, but not in the first round. I would like to play anyone except Ronnie O'Sullivan."
Thepchaiya had his wish as former world champion O'Sullivan is drawn to face James Cahill, the first amateur to reach the Crucible stage of the event.
The championship in Sheffield begins tomorrow.
