The WWE superstars who could be coming to Cardiff this year as leading names set to top bill

The global phenomenon that is WWE is coming to Cardiff later this year.

Some of the biggest stars in wrestling will descend upon the Welsh capital this September as the UK hosts its first major stadium event on British soil for the first time in 30 years. But who exactly will those stars be?

At this stage, the event is unnamed so it's only speculation on who which superstars would be coming to Wales in September. However, logic would dictate that a mix of global stars and European names would feature.

Right now, the biggest name in wrestling is Roman Reigns. The all-conquering Reigns recently defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 38 to become the unified world champion.

He entered the clash as the Universal champion and dethroned 10-time world champion Brock Lesnar of his WWE title to cement his place as WWE's poster boy. Right now, it's unclear what WWE's plans for him are, with the fact he's champion of both brands opening up a world of possibilities across Raw and SmackDown.

However, the feud between Reigns and Lesnar is now reported to be over. While fans will soon find out who Reigns' next challenger is, it's anybody's guess what the company will do with Lesnar.

The 44-year-old works on a part-time basis but showed up frequently for his WrestleMania program with Reigns. So it's seems unlikely we'd see Lesnar in Cardiff in September. The same can be said for John Cena, another icon on a part-time contract who has moved to Hollywood in recent years.

However, it's feasible that Reigns' next challenge might well happen to be European - paving the way for a Cardiff showdown. Scotland's Drew McIntyre, a former world champion, seems the most obvious challenger to Reigns now, having put his own rivalry with Happy Corbin to bed at WrestleMania.

The pair have avoided each other long enough to make a rivalry now a big deal, while the prospect of a Scottish fighter taking on the WWE's poster boy on British soil might be too hard to resist.

Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, Ricochet, Charlotte Flair and Finn Balor could all also feature, while former women's champion Becky Lynch seems a good bet to be involved with her Irish roots.

Cody Rhodes is another who fans might see, after his emotional WWE return as Seth Rollins' surprise opponent for the first night of WrestleMania. His rejoined WWE after six years away with company from rival promotion AEW.
