The Wolseley City is to open on 8 November

The Wolseley City - the first spin out from the original Piccadilly dining landmark - has opened its reservation lines today ahead of its launch on Wednesday, 8th November.

The £10 million Square Mile sister to one of London’s best known gastronomic landmarks is sited in the former House of Fraser building near Monument Square at the north end of London Bridge.

As well as a larger dining room than the original it also has two bars and two private dining rooms.

London-based Fabled Studio has created a space with Baroque ironwork crowning the vaulted windows, a centralised horseshoe banquette, and starburst flooring.

Breakfast will offer classics such as sausage and egg hash brown with sauce diable, to Eggs Royale, and Kedgeree with a poached egg.

The Wolseley opened as a brasserie in 2003 having previously been a Barclays Bank after Wolseley Motors went bankrupt in 1927.

The venue is expected to one the first of up to 10 new Wolseleys in cities around the world such as Dubai and Singapore from new owners, the Thai hotel group Minor International.

Baton Berisha, chief executive of the Wolseley Hospitality Group, has said the new version would not be a replica but said: “When you walk in you will know you are in a Wolseley.”
