The week is off to a great start for fans of The Weeknd.
The pop and R&B star announced Monday that he will release a new album, “Dawn FM,” this Friday.
A video shared on The Weeknd’s official Twitter page lists producer Quincy Jones, comedian Jim Carrey and rappers Lil Wayne and Tyler, the Creator among the album’s collaborators.
“Dawn FM” will be the fifth studio album from The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye.
It comes nearly two years after the 31-year-old singer released his smash hit “After Hours,” which topped Billboard’s album chart in the U.S. and several other countries and yielded three chart-topping singles with “Blinding Lights,” “Save Your Tears” and “Heartless.”
Although “After Hours” garnered critical and commercial success, the album wasn’t nominated at the Grammy Awards last year, prompting The Weeknd to boycott the annual ceremony.
He had previously won three Grammys out of 10 nominations.
