The walk-in Covid vaccine clinics open across Greater Manchester this weekend

Every adult aged 18 or over is now eligible to book themselves in for an appointment at a vaccination clinic.

Manchester City Council has reported that more than 324,000 people who are registered at GP practices across Greater Manchester have now had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

More than 199,000 people are also said to have had their second dose.

To get your first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, people were initially being asked to wait until they were contacted by the NHS directly.

Guidance has now changed to allow anyone to book an appointment, or attend a walk-in centre, even if they have not been sent a message from their GP.

A number of walk-in centres are operating across Greater Manchester to help roll out the vaccination programme.

The latest infection rates have seen cases rise in all but one borough of Greater Manchester.

In the north west, Manchester continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate across the region.

In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 303.2 cases per 100,000 population.

There are 19 walk-in facilities open this weekend across Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.
