The View fans fume after Glasgow tour date sells out 'in seconds' as touts loom

The View fans were left fuming on Friday morning as tickets for the O2 Academy Glasgow gig went on sale at 9am - but sold out almost immediately.

The Dundee-born band announced their return to live audiences in 2022 with a concert at the O2 Academy in Glasgow on Friday, December 16, with support from Shambolics and The Roly Mo.

However, tickets sold out almost immediately, and fans flocked to social media to share their anger at the ticketless situation.

One Twitter user wrote: "I’m honestly convinced that there was no tickets to begin with this morning for The View, utter shambles."

Another said: "tickets for the view is an absolute shambles btw."

And a third wrote: "I’ve been on Ticketmaster since 8:30 waiting for The View tickets to go on sale and clicked it as soon as it went live and there’s none…I don’t understand."

Another added: "Started searching for tickets for the view literally the second they went live. Nothing available. Brutal man."

And a fifth commented: "Absolutely impossible to get tickets for the view - no queuing system, just sold out in seconds. Shambles."

Another Twitter user noted the tickets had cropped up on re-sale sites, writing: "The View tickets now on re-sale websites for over £100, scum."

And others commented: "Twice in a row tickets for the view have been sold out at 09:00. f*** off", and "Convinced tickets weren’t actually released for the view. Was on from 5 to 9 and got nothing."

On popular re-sale website Viagogo, tickets are ranging from £71 to a whopping £143 for once single standing ticket, almost triple the face value of £32.20 each.

However, The View posted just after the tickets sold out on Twitter, announcing another date on the tour for Glasgow.

The tweet read: "Due to demand we are announcing a second @o2academygla Glasgow date on 17th December joined by @riannedowney_ and @SlixUk.

"Thank you to all our fans for this incredible response. We feel the love!

"Tickets available now."

Fans were relieved by this announcement, as one Twitter user replied: "Thank f*** for that!"

Another said: "Thank you, thank you thank you. I'm still determined to try and go to both #TVAOF."

And a third wrote: "Announce a third night please."

Tickets for The View's second date at the O2 Academy Glasgow are available here - but be quick, they'll not be on sale for much longer!
