It’s every Bravo fan’s favourite sentence: cameras have picked back up for reality show The Valley.
Deadline reported that filming recommenced, despite season three having already wrapped, to capture cast member Brittany Cartwright’s reaction after her estranged husband and ex-cast member Jax Taylor was spotted on holiday with their publicist.
TMZ reported that onlookers saw him in Mexico with Lori Krebs earlier this week, the publicist he and his now-estranged wife shared for years, getting close in the pool and dining in a resort restaurant.
For the uninitiated (and how dare you), Cartwright and Taylor’s tumultuous relationship and breakup were a major storyline on seasons one and two of The Valley, culminating in the pair’s divorce and Jax leaving the show to focus on his sobriety. The duo met on Vanderpump Rules, another Bravo reality show and share a five-year-old son, Cruz.
What does picking up cameras mean?
As Bravo lovers will know, picking cameras back up is typically reserved for sufficiently dramatic moments.
Cameras have previously been picked back up on season 10 of Vanderpump Rules — the show Taylor and Cartwright first appeared on — to capture the fallout of “Scandoval”, after cast member Tom Sandoval was exposed for having a months-long affair with Raquel Leviss, cheating on his then-girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Maddix.
In this instance, the extra footage showed Maddix’s reaction to the revelation as well as various conversations between cast members trying to come to terms with the shocking information.
What could the extra footage look like on The Valley?
Since the reunion was filmed on June 18, any extra footage will be an additional section or episode shown afterwards. This could mirror the recent explosive drama that took place earlier this year after filming season 10 of Summer House. A relationship between Amanda Batula and West Wilson sparked massive speculation and controversy, as some felt Batula had betrayed both her best friend and co-star Ciara Miller, who had previously dated Wilson, and her ex-husband and co-star Kyle Cooke, who was Wilson’s friend.
Though cameras weren’t picked back up to capture reactions and relationship fallouts, some key members did film final conversations following the reunion to attempt to give closure and clarity to the audience.
So what will this look like exactly? It’s hard to say. But as a Bravo baddie, let me say, I can’t wait.
