The urgent Foreign Office warning for tourists visiting Spain this month

British tourists have been warned to expect flash floods if they're travelling to Spain this month.

An urgent warning has been issued by the Foreign Office after torrential rain was forecast for the country.

Spain’s meteorological agency (AEMET) has even issued an “extreme risk” weather warning due to the forecast, Liverpool Echo reports .

The regions of Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria have all been issued an orange weather warning between September 12 and 13.

The Foreign Office is warning tourists may experience flash floods in the affected regions.

This could cause disruption and delays to transport services, which could leave tourists stranded.

They are advising tourists in the area to follow the advice of local authorities.
