THE new Toyota GR86 sports car will be priced from £29,995 when it arrives in the UK later this year.
The Gazoo Racing model is the third in the Japanese marque’s line-up of GR cars and follows similar derivatives of the Supra and Yaris.
Based on the GT86 coupe, the GR model has a larger engine, uprated suspension and will also be offered with an automatic transmission, with that version priced from £32,085.
With a 2.4-litre engine, the GR86 develops 231bhp, compared with the 197bhp of the 2.0-litre GT86, which gives the GR model a faster 0-62mph sprint time of 6.3 seconds for the manual variant.
The GR86 also has equipment not available on the GT model including an eight-inch display panel, smartphone integration, LED adaptive headlights, special 18in alloys and a reversing camera with rear cross traffic alert.
Other items include ultrasuede and leather seat upholstery, heated front seats, cruise control, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, keyless entry and start, and auto-folding door mirrors.
The GR86 automatic has additional, new, active safety and driver assistance systems, including a pre-collision system with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam and lane keep assist.
Further information on the opening of orders for this eagerly anticipated new model will be announced very soon.
