The Tottenham morning headlines as Man United make Kane decision, Palace approach Spurs target

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Friday, 20th March.

Kane told to snub Man United interest

former Premier League player John Barnes has urged Harry Kane to snub any summer interest from Manchester United.

Reports have claimed that the Red Devils are eyeing a possible summer move for the England captain along with footballing giants Real Madrid and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

But Barnes has advised Kane to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Harry Kane should not look to leave Tottenham if he loves Spurs and is a fan of the club," he told BonusCodeBets.co.uk.

"If all players wanted to leave their club to win a trophy, all the players would go to  Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City or a  Liverpool, and you’ll never have anyone playing anywhere else.

"You know you're a Tottenham fan, you want to play for Tottenham so stay at Tottenham to try and help them win."

Man United's Kane decision

Further reports say that Manchester United have made a decision on making a summer move for the Spurs striker.

According to the Athletic, the Red Devils will only resume their interest if the striker publicly declares an interest in joining them.

Given as the striker has come through the academy at Spurs and has previously spoken of his love for the club, that seems unlikely.

Palace approach for Tottenham target confirmed.

Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand has confirmed that they received a previous approach from Crystal Palace over forward Eberechi Eze.

The QPR man has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, with Tottenham one of the clubs heavily linked with the player.

"Palace made an enquiry but we never got to any fee or any negotiations in terms of what it was going to take," Ferdinand told The Beautiful Game podcast.

"They made an enquiry about him and that was it. I think if you look at his footballing abilities, I could put him down as one of the best I've seen in terms of what I've played with and been fortunate to play with during my career."

The cost of not completing the season

It was announced on Thursday that the FA's ususal deadline for completing the domestic season has been lifted.

Leagues usually have until June 1st to complete fixtures, but the delay due to the coronavirus postponements mean that the season is now allowed to extend beyond that date.

The new return date has been set as April 30th, but this again could be extended if the situation doesn't improve in the next few months.

But what if the season somehow can't be finished? Reports claim that the Premier League will owe a massive £762million in broadcast revenues.
