The top 10 most popular spas in Scotland for a relaxing getaway in 2022

If you're needing some rest and relaxation this festive period, the top 10 most popular spas in Scotland have just been revealed.

Europe's leading spa experience and booking agency Spabreaks.com investigated booking data from across 2022 to find what spas are visited most frequently.

The findings reveal that Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa is the most popular in Scotland, comprising 16.10 per cent of all bookings made this year.

Located amongst peaceful gardens in Falkirk, the spa offers an extensive treatment menu. Services include facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, and salt scrubs.

Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa also has a pool and a 'thermal suite' where guests can detox.

According to Spabreaks.com, the second most popular spa in Scotland is Macdonald Crutherland House in East Kilbride.

The hotel has partnered with founder of Beauty Despite Cancer Jennifer Young and is one of the first in the UK to offer specialised spa treatments to people living with and beyond cancer.

As it is also part of the Macdonald chain, Crutherland House offers the same services as Inchyra. Its ELEMIS treatments are "individually tailored", leaving guests feeling "relaxed and rejuvenated".

In third place is Doubletree By Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa and Golf Resort, where guests can "revitalise their spirit" in the luxurious spa.

Among the services available are a relaxation room, a swimming pool and hot tub, a sauna and steam room, heated loungers and an experience shower.

Rounding out the top five are two more Macdonald spas - Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel and Resort, and Macdonald Holyrood Hotel.

The former, set amongst lochs and mountains in Aberfoyle, includes an 18-metre swimming pool, and a sauna, while the latter is situated in Edinburgh's historic Old Town and boasts a lavish spa with a relaxation room and swimming pool.

8. Macdonald Houstoun House, Edinburgh & Lothians — 5 per cent of bookings
9. The Stirling Highland Hotel, West & Islands — 3.1 per cent of bookings
10. Devona Spa at the Hilton Aberdeen TECA, Aberdeenshire — 2.6 per cent of bookings
