The Titans are Colin Cowherd’s ‘darkhorse team’ for 2019

The Tennessee Titans haven’t exactly received favorable coverage from the media ahead of the 2019 season.

But in the midst of the negative are some positive projections.

One of the most recent ones came from FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd.

The analyst named the team his “darkhorse team” ahead of the 2019 season, noting Mike Vrabel’s coaching and an offensive line that is expected to see major improvements as his reasoning behind the comment.

Cowherd makes some fine points here.

With the addition of players like guard Rodger Saffold, the offensive line gains some solidity that gives quarterback Marcus Mariota the type of protection he needs to get a fair chance to prove himself in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal.

As for Vrabel, many have been pleased with his hands-on and overall aggressive coaching style, which has paid dividends during some in-game situations.

Tennessee has finished the past three seasons with an underwhelming record of 9-7, but it may finally have the pieces in place to make a memorable postseason run.

The Titans kick off the preseason against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field at 6:30 p.m. CT on Aug. 8.
