The Three Nottingham Forest players who could be given a second chance under Chris Hughton

Chris Hughton has a few days to put his own stamp on the Nottingham Forest squad and team.

The former Brighton and Newcastle boss took over from Sabri Lamouchi at the start of the week, and with the international break, has a few extra training sessions to assess his squad ahead of the return to Championship action.

Forest made the decision to make the change after the Reds suffered their fourth defeat of the season against Bristol City on Saturday, Forest are yet to win any points in the league so far this campaign.

It comes after a poor run of form at the end of last season which also saw Forest dramatically miss out on a playoff place.

Lamouchi bought 13 new players to the club during the transfer window, and Houghton could have the chance to add more.

The domestic transfer window closes on Friday 16 October at 5pm.

But could the new head coach give players whose City Ground future looked over a second chance?

According to the Athletic , Zach Clough, Gaetan Bong, and Michael Hefele will be given a chance to impress the new boss.

All three players are yet to be included in a matchday squad for Forest this season but will be given the chance to force themselves back into the reckoning for the Championship match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, 17 October.
