The three groups who haven't been offered a vaccine yet and when they can expected to receive one

The latest group allowed to register for a Covid-19 vaccination are people aged 45-49.

Jabs are currently being provided for people that “have an underlying condition that puts them at high risk of severe disease and death.”

Thosewith conditions like cancer, organ disease, respiratory diseases and a compromised immune system are receiving their jab now.

Next comes residents of long term care facilities aged over 16 and after that, people aged 16 and older living or working in crowded settings.

The HSE says they will be vaccinating everyone else under 64 “in parallel” to this last group.

The order that vaccines are being offered to each age groups are:

  • 55-64 years old, (who were allowed to register earlier this month)

  • 45-54 years old (who can register now)

  • 35-44 years old

  • 25-34 years old

  • 16-24 years old

People aged 55 to 64 have started receiving their vaccines and those aged 45 to 49 are expected to start getting their jabs at the end of May. The group will either be vaccinated with a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

Vaccines for those over 35 are on track to start in June but everyone over 24 will have to wait until July.

Onmicalculator.com’s Vaccine Queue Calculator estimates that someone aged 20 has over 1 million others in line before them in the queue for a vaccine and won’t receive their first dose until mid July or early in August.

So far, more than two million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been given out as the rollout ramps up.
