The three areas in Bristol with the highest covid rates

The number of areas in Bristol with high covid rates is continuing to go down, latest government figures show.

The data shows there are now three areas in Bristol itself with rates above 600 per 100,000, together with two in the wider region.

Brislington is now recording the city's highest covid rate, followed by Stockwood, with south Bristol continuing to be the worst-hit part of the city in the latest coronavirus wave.

A total of 1,536 coronavirus infections were recorded in Bristol in the seven days to January 22 and the city's rate (331.5) has actually gone down by 26 per cent in a week after a steep rise over the past month - while England's current rate is 373.2.

Below are the neighbourhoods with case rates above 600, listed in descending order:
