The 10 biggest fashion trends to come out of Glastonbury 2025, from bikinis to skinny scarves

No matter how individual you might think your style is, attending a festival will always humble you: someone, somewhere, will be wearing the same thing. Whether you spy them from across a field or are unlucky enough to be in the queue for the same portaloo, they will find you eventually.

As such, there were a handful of trends that became immediately obvious among the Glastonbury 2025 festival crowd. On the footwear front, one specific trainer brand reigned supreme: Salomon. Such was the ubiquity of the gorpcore footwear that it almost felt as though the festival was sponsored by them. If not Salomons, the shoe-du-jour was definitely a biker boot, sweltering sunshine be damned.

Accessories were also weather-defying, with festivalgoers donning scarves in the service of fashion, even in 27-degree heat (granted, they were skinny scarves, so didn’t exactly provide much insulation). That being said, the prevalence of bandanas certainly saved a few from scalp burns.

There were also learnings to be taken from the style on stage, which often comes to predict next year’s crowd vibe. For instance, the impact of last year’s biker chick look from Dua Lipa was clear throughout the fields of this year’s Glasto.

Here are all the key fashion trends we spotted at Glastonbury 2025, from crowd looks to celebrity style.

1. Salomon supremacy

If I had a pound for every time I looked at the shoes next to me in the long drops and clocked they were Salomons, I’d have enough pounds to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2027. And to be fair, it makes total sense: they’re hiking shoes designed for long distances and uneven terrain. Sure, the Salomon designers probably didn’t intend this to be 50,000 steps in the naughty corner, but they still do the trick.

2. Slip dresses

Being uncomfortably hot at Glastonbury requires ravers to slip into something a little more comfortable — literally. Pyjama-style slip dresses were all over Glastonbury, and looked best when worn the Alexa Chung way: with big chunky boots and farmer-esque accessories.

3. Headscarves and bandanas

Let’s all say thank you to Gracie Abrams for encouraging everyone to cover their precious scalps during a hot, hot weekend at Worthy Farm. Bandanas were spotted throughout the crowd this weekend, typically worn flat across the hairline, but doubling up as mouth and nose coverings to avoid inhaling all the dust.

4. Metallic oval sunglasses

The standout pair of sunglasses from Glastonbury 2025 was, without a doubt, a pair of metallic oval frames. They’re not brand-dependent, but the nicest pairs (and the ones you’ll spy on actual celebs in the interstage area) are made by MiuMiu and Prada.

5. The Alexander McQueen skull scarf

It’s baaaaaaack. The iconic 2000s accessory is being gradually resurrected, with Charli xcx’s custom skull scarf top being the latest example of its return. Timothée Chalamet was seen wearing one this January and McQueen skull prints made their runway comeback for AW25 this March.

6. Oversized side bags

The day of the standard side bag is over; the time of the mammoth crossbody bag is here. Especially at Glastonbury, where the commute from tent to stage can be up to 40 minutes, so stocking up for the day is essential. Wear it tucked around your back so it doesn’t dominate the outfit.

7. Vivienne Westwood mini skirts

If Chopova Lowena’s tartan carabiner skirts ruled the last few years, Vivienne Westwood’s mini skirts are expected to rule the next. The revival is fully here: Janet Planet from Confidence Man wore the white striped iteration (famously first worn by Kate Moss, who walked the runway topless while eating an ice cream) during the band’s surprise performance with Jade, but the real star of the show was Doechii, who wore not one but two Vivienne Westwood mini skirts for her performance at West Holts Stage on Saturday.

8. Skinny scarves

An item beloved by frazzled English women like Kate Winslet in The Holiday, you wouldn’t naturally pair skinny scarves with festival season, but they were everywhere this Glastonbury. Particular highlights came in the form of striped and sparkly iterations.

9. Adidas shorts

If you don’t have already have a pair of Adidas shorts this summer, what are you doing? They are undoubtedly the item of the summer, often paired with a crisp shirt or (more likely at Glastonbury) a sweat-laden white vest.

10. Bikinis as tops

The bikini top trend was back in full force this Glastonbury, spurred on by Lorde and her newfound love of wearing a metallic bikini with a white top and jeans. She did exactly this for her surprise Woodsies set at Glastonbury, pulling up her white baby tee to reveal a silver bikini beneath. Simple, clean, a little trashy. We love it.
