With April being National Pet Month and the days getting lighter, there's never been a better time to celebrate the love you have for your four-legged friends by getting them out for a wee afternoon wander.
To help, bath retailer Showers to You has put together of the highest-rated dog-friendly beaches in the UK, creating a top 10 by analysing Google ratings and reviews for 148 beaches with no dog restrictions.
And the research has revealed which is the best beach for you and your pooch, with one beautiful beach just over 50 minutes from Edinburgh being named the only entry for Scotland.

Seacliff Beach near North Berwick, which is probably one of the least well-known and quieter of the beaches overlooking the Firth of Firth has plenty of wide open space and golden stretches of sand making it ideal for doggos.
With epic views of the Firth of Forth, the imposing Bass Rock and the impressive ruins of Tantallon Castle lying nearby, there are lots of things to see and do. Oh, and be sure to look out for the intriguing little harbour known as the Gegan.
Best of all there are not too many people here making it much easier to allow your dog off the leash to run free at times, tiring them out for the ride home.
As always please be responsible by picking up after your pooch and make sure to put them back on the leash if there are any horse riders active on the beach.
If you fancy a wee refuel, the picturesque town of North Berwick is also 15 minutes drive away.
