The countdown is on. Nottingham Forest have until 11pm this evening to complete any final transfer deals.
After something of a slow start to the January window, there have been comings and goings at the City Ground in the last week or so.
And there looks likely to be further business done on deadline day as head coach Sabri Lamouchi finalises his squad for a Championship promotion push.
Here is the state of play as we head into the final day of the January transfer window.
One to watch
Luke Freeman: Not necessarily a top target, but one to keep an eye on at least.
And if the Sheffield United attacking midfielder does make the move, that could have an impact on Joao Carvalho’s future.
Would the club need both?
Who might leave?
Arijanet Muric: Has not been part of the matchday squad recently, with Jordan Smith the back-up goalkeeper instead.
Lamouchi has previously said it was likely he would return to parent club Manchester City.
Luke Steele: Back from being on loan at Millwall, but seems unlikely he will force his way into the reckoning.
Played only two games while with the Lions.
Michael Hefele: Defender has earned praise from Lamouchi after recovering from injury. But still hasn’t been able to get a look-in.
And Forest do have a fair few central defenders on the books.
Yohan Benalouane finds himself in a similar position, having only featured in the FA Cup defeat at Chelsea.

Zach Clough: The forward has found it tough to make an impact in the Garibaldi since his move in 2017.
Not part of the squad Lamouchi works with, and has been linked to Sunderland this month.
John Bostock: There is a fair bit of competition in midfield, and the Toulouse loanee has found chances limited.
Charlton Athletic were said to be keen.
Others to watch with interest: There’s been a fair bit of speculation about both Carvalho and Matty Cash.
The manager has made it clear they are and wants to keep them.
But Cash has some high profile suitors, who might give the Reds a decision to make, while Carvalho is finding it tough to get into the starting XI...
What deals have already been done?
In
Adama Diakhaby: The winger is on loan from Huddersfield Town for the rest of the season, with Forest understood to have the option to make his move permanent.
Made his debut from off the bench in Tuesday night’s victory at Brentford.
Nuno da Costa: The striker, who can also play out wide, completed a deal from French side Strasbourg for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around 2m euros.
Could make his first appearance in the Garibaldi on Saturday, at Birmingham City.
Gaetan Bong: The left-back as the club acted quickly to secure a replacement, following Chema’s departure.
Will provide competition and back-up for Yuri Ribeiro.
The Cameroon international, who has been with the Seagulls since 2015, has struggled for game time this term, making just seven appearances and not featuring in the Premier League since October.
He has previously played for Wigan Athletic, Olympiacos and Valenciennes.
Tyler Walker: during his pre-match press conference, and his recall from his loan spell at Lincoln City was later confirmed.
The 23-year-old has been in red-hot form with the Imps, netting 16 goals in 34 appearances. More of the same in the Garibaldi will be the aim.
Out
Rafa Mir: The front man’s loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers was cut short after he struggled to make an impression Trentside.
Featured 13 times for Forest, without finding the back of the net, and has gone on to join Spanish club Huesca.
Jack Robinson: The lure of Premier League football tempted the full-back, although Forest did their best to hang on to him.
Was out of contract at the City Ground in the summer, and rejected a new deal.
Claudio Yacob: Wasn’t part of the first-team set-up this season and his contract was this week terminated by mutual consent.
The midfielder has since signed for Nacional, in Uruguay.
Costel Pantilimon: Another player who wasn’t part of the picture under Lamouchi, after being No.1 last term.
Has headed to Cyprus, on loan with AC Omonia for the rest of the campaign.
Chema: Spaniard was keen to return to his homeland, once the offer from Getafe came in, and asked to leave.
Had only joined the Reds in the summer.
