As is tradition, the St. Louis Blues visited the White House Tuesday afternoon to celebrate their Stanley Cup championship. In past years, the White House visit has been a lighting rod of controversy, but the Blues presented a united front and were all smiles during the Rose Garden ceremony.

Blues superfan Laila Anderson gets a shout out
The Blues have credited Laila for being an inspiration to the team during their entire championship run. On Tuesday, Trump called her out of the stands and shook her hand and she was visibly delighted.
The Stanley Cup gets auctioned off
Billy Long, U.S. Representative from Missouri’s 7th Congressional district, was in attendance. He’s also an auctioneer and “sold” the Cup to Trump for $65K, which seems like a steal.
Trump talked about Turkey and Nancy Pelosi
Before getting to the reason why they were all gathered in the Rose Garden, Trump took a break from the prepared remarks to talk about the situation in Turkey and the impeachment hearings, while the Blues players looked on awkwardly. I mean, if you can’t talk to Alex Pietrangelo about international relations, who can you talk to?!
Trump bashed “fake news”
In a tangent about the Blues’ theme song “Gloria” Trump took a dig at the media, which got a hearty guffaw from the crowd and players.
Trump called out Alex Steen and his hockey smile
Sometimes, players put their fake teeth in for special occasions, but not Alex Steen! Authentic to to the core.
