The standout Gabriel Jesus stat from Man City matchwinner at Leicester

Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards have hailed Gabriel Jesus' match-winning performance off the bench for Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side were in need of a goal after Sergio Aguero saw a penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel and Jesus delivered after his introduction to the game.

Jesus' effort saw him take his tally to 10 in the Premier League this season, behind only Raheem Sterling and Aguero, and his impact attracted vast praise from the Sky Sports studio.

Redknapp identified how he made the difference but added that he feels the 22-year-old Brazilian must be frustrated to not be playing more matches.

"He came on in the 77th minute and he showed so much energy, he was involved all the times and he figured out where the space was and that there was a little bit of weakness down that left-hand side," he told Sky Sports.

"[He had] 16 touches, Sergio Aguero only had 24 and he played for a lot longer. It must be frustrating to not be playing every week, especially away from gome.

"Twelve of his 17 goals this year have come away from home, he's brilliant at stretching defences, he chases lost causes, he's brilliant you need that away from home because most strikers would rather play from home. They needed him so much and he added what they needed."

Richards also added praise for Jesus, explaining just how he made his impact and how he was exactly what City were looking for in the match.

"He's got that energy that Sergio doesn't have. In training he can look lazy at times but once he gets going he always scores. When he came on, he changed the game," he said.

"I feel a bit sorry for him at times because when you're behind a top player like Aguero, you don't always get the chances that you deserve but today he came on and changed the game and credit to him.

"Any player who presses is going to help the team. Leicester's tactic was to sit in and try to City on the counter, at times they did look a bit static up there, so sometimes fresh legs helps, don't forget they played on Wednesday."
