The Snuts confirmed for TRNSMT festival after Ian Brown pulls out

West Lothan indie stars The Snuts will perform on the main at TRNSMT after Ian Brown cancelled his set.

The Whitburn band will now headline the Friday, September 10 slot after Brown pulled out of his scheduled performance at the Glasgow Green festival.

The former Stone Roses frontman caused controversy last year when he said he was not “anti-vaccine, but anti this vaccine,” saying the rollout of the jab was of “experimental rushed and flawed”.

He also said he would not perform at a gig or festival crowd where fans required to be jabbed.

Brown’s comments outraged some fans and he has now pulled out of his own accord.

The Snuts have been enjoying remarkable success this past year after they became the first Scottish act in 14 years to see their debut album WL enter the charts at Number 1.

Their achievement in April this year saw them see off competition from American singer Demi Lovato.

Produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix, M83) and recorded at the Firepit London, ‘WL’ encapsulates the band’s journey from four working class kids growing up with a dream in Whitburn, to becoming one of the UK’s most exciting and vital bands of the new decade.
