The seven changes Frank Lampard could make to his Chelsea team against West Ham

Frank Lampard is likely to make changes to his Chelsea team for this evening's Premier League clash against West Ham.

Last in action on Sunday as the Blues beat Leicester City 1-0 in the FA Cup, the head coach changed things about for the game at the King Power stadium to freshen things up.

However, he wasn't pleased with what he saw from his side in the first period and subsequently made a triple change at the start of the second half.

Given his side now face another league game, as well as the fact he wasn't happy with his team's performance at Leicester, the club's all-time top goalscorer will make a few alterations for tonight's match in east London.

But who could he change? football.london takes a look.

Cesar Azpilicueta for Reece James

Lampard's first change could come at right-back with Azpilicueta coming into the side.

James got the nod at Leicester but only lasted 45 minutes as the captain was introduced at the break.

It would be a shock if the Spaniard wasn't recalled to the starting XI at the London Stadium.

Andreas Christensen for Kurt Zouma

Christensen wasn't involved at Leicester and there are question marks over whether or not he will get the nod against the Hammers.

The Dane is struggling with an injury but Lampard has confirmed that he is in the matchday squad for the game.

If he is indeed fit to take part, he could well come straight in to continue playing alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Marcos Alonso for Emerson Palmieri

One likely change for the Blues will come at left-back.

Emerson was handed a rare opportunity to start against Leicester but Alonso is expected to be recalled to the starting XI.

Left-back has been a problem position for Lampard this term but Alonso appears to have made it his own in recent weeks despite a spell out of the team.

Mateo Kovacic for Billy Gilmour

Gilmour failed to impress on Sunday against the Foxes and was substituted at half-time as a result.

There's a very good chance he will find himself back on the bench against West Ham and it may open the door for Kovacic to come in.

The Croat, who hasn't started since the win at Aston Villa, has played a major part in Chelsea's good form this season and he will be intent on showing it as he looks to win back his place in the starting XI.

Ross Barkley for Mason Mount

Another player who will be desperate to make the team is Ross Barkley.

The ex-Everton man has performed well for Chelsea since the restart and he grabbed the only goal on Sunday at Leicester with a well-taken finish.

It may be time for Lampard to give Mount a breather and that could see his teammate start for the second league game on the bounce.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek for Christian Pulisic

Chelsea fans will have their fingers crossed that Pulisic is fit enough to start in east London.

The United States international came off in the 72nd minute on Sunday afternoon after feeling a bit of tightness in his calf.

While the head coach has said that the issue has improved since the weekend, he may choose to keep him on the bench with some important games coming up for the side.

Loftus-Cheek replaced him at Leicester and he could do likewise once again this evening.

Olivier Giroud for Tammy Abraham

The game at West Ham could also see Giroud recalled to the team.

The Frenchman was given a rest at Leicester last time out and that saw Abraham get his chance in his place.

Giroud has become a key part of Lampard's team since February and he will more than likely get the nod upfront again.
