The Seattle Seahawks are apparently huge fans of expensive rookie dinners because they’re at it again, and this time, they ordered a boatload of food that is so expensive it should be able to feed someone for days on end.
When you join the NFL, things change. However, some things remain the same, including the Seahawks making their rookies pay for exorbitant dinners as rookies. In 2019, the team made headlines for a $17,000 rookie dinner that its defensive secondary held, where they drank over $10,000 worth of alcohol alone. (Yeah, they did not hold back on the cognac.)
In 2023, it’s much of the same because some poor unfortunate souls (Was it you, Devon Witherspoon?) got stuck with an even bigger tab of $22,000, including multiple orders of lobster, steak and desserts.
