The science of the invisible - podcast

This week on the podcast the Guardian's Pascal Wyse meets science writer Philip Ball to delve into the role of the unseen in the evolution of science and culture.

Throughout history, the world of the unseen has been fertile ground for both the ignorant and the enlightened. Ball's book Invisible: The Dangerous Allure of the Unseen is an exhaustive exploration of invisibility, from Plato's ideas about the "ether", via dark energy and matter to "invisibility cloaks" made from nano-materials.
