The role Monaco royalty could be in line to take on at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest could yet make a change to their backroom staff this summer, despite planning to stick with boss Sabri Lamouchi.

Former AS Monaco official Louis Ducruet could be in line to take up a post at the City Ground, after leaving the Ligue 1 team last week.

The Reds are understood to be interested in appointing the 27-year-old, who is also reportedly on the radar of fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos.

Ducruet is the son of Princess Stephanie of Monaco and is 15th in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne.

He took on various jobs at Monaco, starting off in the marketing department, before moving on to be an international recruiter and assistant to the vice-president and general manager.

Although reports had suggested he could work with head of international recruitment Jose Anigo and technical director Francois Modesto, it is believed if he does link up with Forest his role would be an administrative one, rather than on the recruitment side.

If that does prove to be the case, it would be no surprise if his arrival is not announced by the club.

Confirming his departure from Monaco after five years, Ducruet said he was headed for “a new adventure, a new challenge, which will allow me to acquire more experience”.

He posted on Instagram last week: “It’s with a lot of emotions that I announce you today my departure from the AS Monaco football club.

“It’s time for a new adventure, a new challenge, which will allow me to acquire more experience.

“Thank you to the club for these unforgettable moments, the exceptional journey in the Champions league but also the title of Champion of France in 2017.

“Thank you for this wonderful experience with admirable and competent people.

“Finally, thank you to all the supporters for these moments that we shared together.

“AS Monaco is a big club with great supporters.”
