The reason Wilfried Zaha is not in the Crystal Palace squad for Burnley clash

Crystal Palace will be without talisman Wilfried Zaha for this evening's Premier League clash with Burnley at Turf Moor as he is self-isolating.

Just moments after releasing the official team news for the clash in Lancashire, Palace confirmed that the winger has been forced to pull out of the squad and enter self-isolation.

Palace have not commented on whether or not the winger, himself, has tested positive for the virus, is displaying symptoms or has been on contact with somebody who has contracted Covid-19.

In his place, Roy Hodgson, the Palace manager, has installed Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi to the starting line-up.

Zaha's absence means that he is the only change that Hodgson has opted to make from the 4-1 victory over Leeds United prior to the international break.

Batshuayi's inclusion in the starting line-up will mark his fourth Premier League start of the campaign, with the Belgium international having previously started the 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, victory over Fulham and 2-0 reverse to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Interestingly, Batshuayi, who is yet to score since returning to Palace on loan during the summer, scored on his last appearance at Turf Moor, helping Palace defeat Burnley 3-1 in February 2019.

He is poised to partner Jordan Ayew up front as Palace go in search of registering a third Premier League win in their last four outings.

Palace have won five of their last nine meetings with Burnley, offering encouragement to the club's supporters that they can still secure another three-point haul without Zaha.

The speedy winger has been key for Palace this season, scoring five times and claiming two assists in his first eight Premier League outings.
