The reason Kepa Arrizabalaga does not start for Chelsea in crucial clash against Wolves

Frank Lampard has explained his decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga from his Chelsea starting line-up for their game against Wolves.

Willy Caballero has been chosen to start in goal by Lampard, after the Spanish stopper conceded five at Liverpool in midweek.

The 25-year-old was also dropped by Lampard for a spell earlier in the season and has been heavily criticised for errors this season.

While Christian Pulisic has also returned to Chelsea's starting XI for this afternoon's game, stepping in for the injured Willian.

Chelsea v Wolves: Frank Lampard press conference

"It's just a choice, just a choice," Lampard told Sky Sports ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge when asked about Kepa.

"Kepa's had some difficult times, so I've chosen Willy and Willian is injured so I have had to adjust.

“Christian would have played anyway the way he is playing off the back of his injury. So we are pretty similar.”

While Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp said on the call : "It's not a big surprise for me. He doesn't make enough saves.

"You don't do that to your No.1 goalkeeper. He feels he's not the right man. He's not in form, he doesn't make enough big saves.

"He cost £75million and he hasn't been a success."
