If someone ask me today what is so far my favourite book/series I have read this year I would answer hands down The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. This series was one I had seen on tumblr for so long but I had always been a little hesitant to read since I barely knew the concept of it, and even now I find it hard to explain what it’s about without giving away spoilers, so here are ten words to tell you what this series is a little bit about: magic, friendship, physics, legends, love, Kings, murders, and CARS.
This book is the first I have ever read of Maggie Stiefvater and let me tell you I was not disappointed by it. This series is written so beautifully that I couldn’t put it down, once I had finish the first book, The Raven Boys, I had to go on Amazon and buy the other two asap. Maggie manages to create this strange but lovely world with kickass characters to go along with it and it was somethings that I couldn’t help but love.
I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters in this book. I enjoy how through the series you get to be in everyones head and understand them better. And if I had to pick a favourite character it would have to be Ronan because he is such a badass but at the same time a cinnamon roll… But back to the series… This series was awesome and I would give it a 10/10, so please do yourself a favour, go to the nearest bookstore and buy The Raven Boys, it will not disappoint.
