The Queen has reportedly arrived in Scotland for a break ahead of the Jubilee celebrations next week.

A typical destination for her this time of year, it's certainly not out of the ordinary for The Queen to pace herself ahead of such a huge event that will have the whole of the UK with their eyes fixed on the action.

As most know, there will be an extended bank holiday, from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5, to celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

Events celebrating the huge achievement will be broadcast on a big screen in Edinburgh, with people taking part in various themed activities across the country.

An iconic rendition of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline is expected to be belted out at parties across the UK on Sunday, June 5, with local performers and entertainment by the Royal Mariners all expected to join in the fun.

The BBC will also be putting on a show to remember, with Diana Ross set to headline their Platinum Party at The Palace concern celebrating The Queen's 70-year Jubilee.

This year, Queen Elizabeth II became the first monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, rising to the throne on February 6, 1952 after her father, King George VI, died from lung cancer at Sandringham.
