The pub with one of the best views in the world that's struggling to get staff to work there

As a view from the office it takes some beating.

The Worm's Head Hotel boasts stunning panoramas over the futhermost tip of Gower, the rocky headland of Worm's Head, and the sweep of Rhossili Bay. It even offers subsidised accommodation for staff working in the 17-bedroom business.

But what should be easy posts to fill are proving anything but, according to the proprietor, Adrian Short, who said: "It has been difficult to recruit. Obviously we've had a tough few years with the pandemic and it's well documented there's been a shortage of chefs across the industry. This year has been particularly difficult for recruitment. I think Brexit has a lot to do with it. We used to have a reliance on overseas students, but Brexit has cut that".

Of the hotel, he added: "It really does have the best view from the office window that anyone could hope for. It's a very social job, you meet people from all over the world, and there is great existing camaraderie amongst the existing staff. It pays well too, above the minimum wage and there are contributions towards petrol for any staff who work here but don't stay here."
