The positive reason Prince William and Kate Middleton 'prefer' video calls to in-person meetings

Prince William and Kate Middleton prefer video calls to in-person meetings because they can have more "in-depth one-on-one conversations" with no time limit, according to the BBC's Tina Daheley,

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have appeared in posts on their Instagram account connecting with people via video chat during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Daheley, who interviewed the couple last week, William and Kate "much prefer" these video calls as a way to "have in-depth one-on-one conversations."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been doing these virtual speaking engagements from their home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where they've been isolating.

Daheley told the Coronavirus Newscast: "You don't have to faff about with all the other stuff and only having a set amount of time and having to go somewhere and meet loads of people...They like that you can have an in-depth one-on-one conversation with people."

She spoke to the royals about supporting frontline workers, building a bigger global community and trauma that stems from the pandemic.

They also discussed what lockdown has been like for them as a family, with Kate admitting there are "lots of ups and downs."

Last week they launched a new initiative, Every Mind Matters, a ten-step program to support people at home with their mental wellbeing.

She called her conversation with William and Kate "normal," saying, "I think the thing that people sometimes forget is that they're members of the royal family, they can perform if you like. But the thing that always strikes me is how normal they are," adding, "It did feel like I was just having a chat with people."
