Every local authority in Wales has seen an increase in their coronavirus infection rates over the last seven days.
In the seven days between December 27 and January 2, the infection rate increased in every area when compared to the previous week.
The area with the highest percentage growth was Blaenau Gwent with a huge increase of 230%.

These figures are seven-day rolling totals for new cases adjusted for population (per 100,000 people). It is important to remember that though these figures are a useful guide they are just part of the story. If testing massively increases in one place there is likely to be a rise in confirmed cases. However these figures are still a vital factor in Welsh Government and Public Health Wales decision-making.
The latest seven-day infection rate across Wales, based on the seven days up to January 2 has risen to has risen to 2,324.6 – the highest figure at any stage of the pandemic.
Below are the five areas where Covid has risen the most in the past week.
Blaenau Gwent
By far the area experiencing the fastest growth over the last seven days, the infection rate in Blaenau Gwent has risen by 230% compared to the previous week. It should be remembered that this area has a small population so the raw number of cases is actually quite small.
Neath Port Talbot
The infection rate in Neath Port Talbot has risen by 162% over the last seven days and is now above the Welsh rate.
Carmarthenshire
The rate in Carmarthenshire has risen by 134% however still remains below the Welsh average due to the lower number of cases previously.
Caerphilly
The infection rate in Caerphilly has risen by 128% over the last week compared to the previous seven days. It now has an infection rate of 2,506.7 which is higher than the Welsh figure.
Powys
The infection rate in powys has risen by 125% over the seven days to January 2.
