'The only criticism' - Lee Bowyer makes Nottingham Forest claim after loss to Charlton

Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer felt his side should have scored more goals in their win over Nottingham Forest.

The Reds were beaten 1-0 by the Addicks at the City Ground on Tuesday night, with striker Lyle Taylor bagging the decisive strike midway through the first half.

The defeat leaves Sabri Lamouchi’s side in fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship table, two points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

The gap from the top two could be extended, if Fulham beat Millwall this evening to leapfrog Leeds United in the table.

After the match, Lamouchi admitted that he made some mistakes with his team selection, and that Charlton deserved the victory.

Bowyer echoes the Frenchman’s views regarding the outcome of the match, and feels his side deserve credit for their performance on Trentside.

"Tonight was much more like the way that we can play and, from start to finish, I thought that we were better than them,” Bowyer told the club’s website.

He added: "They created the odd chance here and there and yet they’re a good side.

“There’s not many teams that will have taken four points from Forest this season, especially coming here and getting three.

"The only criticism that I have is that we should have won the game by more."
