The one change Newcastle United fans would like to see Steve Bruce make this evening

Newcastle United fans would like to see one change to the side that beat Everton last weekend.

That is according to the votes from our ChronicleLive team selector tool ahead of this evening's clash with Southampton at St Mary's.

The Magpies can temporarily move into the top four of the Premier League table with a win on the South Coast and, as a result, United fans wouldn't tinker with the team too much.

Steve Bruce seems to have settled for a 5-3-2 system after avoiding defeat at Wolves and beating Everton, and although that isn't the image that has been pulled through on the graphic, it seems fans have been selecting their sides with that system in mind.

Karl Darlow would retain his place in goal while the back three of Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Federico Fernandez would also start again.

Jacob Murphy and Jamal Lewis would retain their places at wing-backs but there would be one change in midfield.

Sean Longstaff and Miguel Almiron would both keep their places in the midfield three but fans would like to see Isaac Hayden replace Jeff Hendrick in the base of midfield.

Unsurprisingly, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson would make up the front two.

Do you agree with the fans' most popular XI?
