The newly refurbished Blyth pub where punters can now enjoy Fizz Fridays

Punters to a newly refurbished Northumberland pub can enjoy Fizz Fridays and a new cocktail menu.

The South Beach pub in Blyth has reopened its doors after a 10 day closure for a £130,000 refurbishment.

The new look will include a newly designed bar, new soft furnishings, newly designed beer garden and social area.

The investment has brought along a further five jobs expanding the team up to around 20. The beer garden has also gone under renovations which includes additional covers and the indoors screens will providing both Sky and BT sports.

Social spaces include a new comfortable and relaxed seating area as well as a new a snug area and dining space.

Licensee, Simon Lumsden, has been at the pub for 18 months and has had a busy couple of weeks putting everything into the reopening. He recruited the new team members and has overseen the transformation.

The pub will reopen with a variety pub classics such as all-time favourites freshly cooked hand-battered Atlantic cod with chips and steak and ale pie, as well as a number of 'King of the Grill' options and a range of burgers.

Simon said: "I can’t wait to reopen our doors; this is the biggest thing to happen to us here for some time, and we can’t wait for the community to see it.

"The new refresh includes a new bar which will have a sport orientated and entertainment feel as well as a separate new snug area to relax and have a drink."

Simon said everyone is welcome to see the transformation.

He added: "We’ve had tremendous support from the community, and they know how much of an exciting moment this is for us. We’ve got a new look and space where our guests can relax and see friends and family and soak in the atmosphere."
