A question on everyone's mind amid the country's planned reopening is when will the salons and barbers reopen?
Many of us are eagerly awaiting the chance to get our hair cut or styled or are in desperate need of a professionals help to fix the DIY haircut disasters we've experienced.
On May 1 Leo Varadkar released the five-stage roadmap for the reopening of Ireland.
According to this plan, hairdressers and barbers are set to open their doors in phase four, which is set to begin on July 20.
The opening of hairdressers and barbers in the later phase is because they are not considered an essential service. However, the Irish Hairdressers Federation have called for this opening to be moved forward to three weeks earlier in phase 3.
This is due to their worries over black market haircuts and hairdressers being tempted to perform unsafe home calls to clients.
Unlike Ireland a lot of countries in Europe have begun opening hairdressers and barbers in earlier phases of their easing of restrictions.
However, the opening of these businesses isn't without strict restrictions.
Barber and salon rules in Europe
In France, salons are only accepting customers who have booked appointments in advance and expect masks and gowns to be worn. Hydraulic gel, disinfectants and disposable gloves are also being used.
Appointments are being taken care of quickly and customers are being charged for the disposable equipment used in the visit.
In many barbers and salons only one person is inside getting their hair done at any one time which could become the norm.
Turkey, Spain, Germany and Norway have also allowed these businesses to open.
Although Irish barbers and salons are not set to open until July 20th, phase four. It's likely Irish salons and barbers will adhere to similar restrictions as other European countries in order to assure the safety of staff and customers.
