The new Pontypridd to London coach service

A new South Wales to London coach service launches this week.

The new route, starting from Pontypridd, with stops then at Nantgarw, Cardiff and Newport before travelling on directly to London, is from NAT Group.

Launching this Friday it will initially operate on Thursdays Fridays, Sundays and Mondays, providing up to three services daily.

The route is on the back of the results of a tie up with Snap, a technology platform for coach operators, which asked residents in South Wales to suggest routes that NAT should operate.

Overwhelmingly, they voted for a new service to London, starting at Pontypridd.

Managing director of NAT Group, Adam Keen, said: “We’re very excited to launch this new service connecting South Wales with London.

"Initially, we will run the service up to three times a day. However, based on Snap’s technology we can respond to demand with additional services, utilising our modern fleet of vehicles and large pool of coach drivers.

"We’re pleased to be providing the only direct connection between Pontypridd, Treforest and London.”

Snap chief executive, Thomas Ableman, said: “Snap works with the very best local coach companies to provide services that people would like.

We use technology to ensure that services run at the times people want, from the places people want and to ensure that prices are kept as low as possible.

" We also make sure the journeys are simple and stress-free with live tracking and dynamic ETA updates, and convenient local pick-ups in places currently underserved.”

Last year NAT (New Adventure Travel) Group, which operates more than 100 coach and buses in South Wales, was acquired in a £13.4m deal by one of the world's largest transport companies, in Singapore-based ComfortDelGro Corporation.
