The message Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had for Mason Mount after England call

Mason Mount has discussed what Frank Lampard said to him after being called up for England's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.

The Chelsea starlet was named in Gareth Southgate's for the qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo after an excellent start to the season which has seen him establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

After being involved with the senior squad during his loan spell with Derby County it is not Mount's first time with Southgate's squad, but after proving himself as a Premier League player Lampard has urged the midfielder to keep his head down and carry on what he's started with the west London club.

Speaking to the club website, Mount said: "I spoke to him (Frank Lampard ) a little bit and have taken stuff off him as I do always.

"When I got called up first last year he sat me down in his office and said to me that I was called up and obviously it was a massive, massive moment for myself.

"And this time, he just spoke to me and said ‘look, you’ve been called up again, go into it working hard, like you have been at Chelsea’.

"Being in the squad last season, having a taste of being around the place and being around the first-team obviously gave me that extra hunger to be in the squad again."
