Who will win The Masters? | You Ask The Questions

Play at the Masters has been suspended for the rest of the day due to bad weather, following frightening scenes as three trees collapsed near spectators at Augusta National. After an initial suspension due to the threat of lightning, high winds toppled several trees - with broadcast footage picking up one terrifying incident beside the 17th tee. It has been confirmed that no one was injured.

A statement from the Masters said: “No injuries were reported from three trees that were blown over to the left of the No. 17 tee due to wind. The safety and well-being of everyone attending the Masters Tournament will always be the top priority of the club, which will continue to closely monitor weather today and through the tournament.

“The second round has been officially suspended for the rest of the day. Play will resume Saturday morning at 8:00am (12pm BST).”

On the course, four-time major winner Brooks Koepka set an imposing clubhouse target of -12 after taking full advantage of ideal conditions earlier in the day to post a flawless 67.

Rory McIlroy looks set to miss the halfway cut, however, after struggling to a hugely disappointing second round of 77 to finish five over par. The pre-tournament joint favourite was three shots outside the projected cut when he signed his card shortly before play was suspended.
